Can anyone help me with the eco-trottle switch when I switch it on it seems to run the same idle whether I have it off or on, what could be causing it not to work, is it a bad switch or I am running 89 octane could that be the problem. I have a 5.5 hp honda GX160 engine that is hard to start, but once it gets going it appears to run solid unless you throttle down quickly and then it sometimes will stall out. I have let it run for several hours and then try to restart and may have to mess with it for 15-20 minutes to get it going again.

Web24 apr. 2014 · Here is what I have done and tried so for. -Disconnected the oil level sensor -Cleaned out the gas tank, line, and fuel filter in the small bowl. (Everything was clean.) -Tried fresh 93 octane gas. -Tried running with no gas cap. -Air filter and spark plug look like new. -Removed the carb and cleaned the jets. Blew out all the passages in the Carb.

Typically speaking, if it wont run unless the choke is on, its has a vacuum leak. In short, I suspect, the gasket between the carb and black spacer is torn or not sealing or the gasket between the black spacer and the carb is. On occasion the black spacer is cracked or warped. Make sure that you are using straight petrol for a 4 stroke engine. Also consider the age of the fuel, if it has been more than 3 months it may have gone stale. If I remove the carb bowl, & open fuel ****, gas flows freely out. I can blow through siphon pipe that sucks gas from bowl to jet. So it's getting fuel OK, right?
