The PCM energizes the … Webb30 maj 2014 · My guess is that the long cranking before starting is caused by either a sensor, or loss of pressure in your fuel system after shut down. This over time will overtax the starter and cause premature failure. Replace the starter and you'll have caught up to me, as I have most of the same symptoms.

Its been a pretty cold winter so far, with mornings starting off at almost -20C. Wife said the Enclave was somewhat difficult to start, and actually didn't start once or twice while attempting to crank. Webb15 juli 2024 · Cranking means the starter motor is engaged. Start means the engine fires and runs un-aided by the starter motor. Given that here is the progression. Failure to crank - starter does not operate at all. Cranks, no start - starter engages but engine does not fire up. Cranks slowly - starts on first or subsequent attempts.

This is not normal for the truck. Grounds are all done, I am wondering if its the starter relay or the starter solenoid itself. Usually a slow cranking of the starter would indicate a low charged battery or the battery not taking a charge.

Webb31 jan. 2011 · Truck started cranking over slow the other day. I figured the ol stock batteries were done, so I replaces them both. It didn't help at all. It cranks over and fires, but definatley slower than it should. Yet the starter sounds fine. Could it be the starter? or is there a common 'bad ground' or something of that nature?
